Deepening of Tema and Takoradi Ports for Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority

After having been awarded the contract in 2002, IPD successfully completed in 2003 an 11 million Euro contract for the deepening of Tema and Takoradi Ports for Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority. The port areas which required deepening constituted eight berths at Tema Port, the access channel into Tema Fishing Harbour, the site of a future marine dock and an area of Takoradi Port.
The deepening of these important ports has enabled Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to increase the use of the current port facilities with a higher number of container ships accessing the ports, and the deepening has also facilitated future works.
A good client relationship was formed with Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority who expressed great satisfaction with IPD’s management of the project, the project’s execution and the final end result.

Project status: completed.
