The Self-Help Electrification Programme (SHEP) project of the Government of Ghana seeks to electrify those communities within a 20 km distance of a technically suitable High Voltage supply, who have taken the initiative to carry out certain preparatory works, including the installation of Low Voltage (LV) wooden poles.
IPD successfully completed a contract for the Supply of a broad range of electrical equipment and materials for utilisation in the SHEP-3 phase of this programme to the value of approximately US$ 22.5 million sourcing from Sweden and Canada, to the complete satisfaction of the Ministry of Energy. The scope of supply covered a variety of power cables, MV and LV transformers of different kinds and all the associated parts and components for LV and MV electricity lines.
To finance this project IPD arranged concessionary Supplier’s Export Credit backed by The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and Export Development Canada (EDC).
